You Are Always Being Guided


They say the aftermath of a crisis is when the light comes in. Yet during a crisis we tend to forget our faith and our trust, and it becomes easy to sit and get comfortable in the darkness that surrounds us.

But it is during the dark times when we need our faith and trust the most.

In this post I want to remind you of how important it is to notice that even in your darkest moments, you are always being guided to an up leveling in your spiritual faith and current situation.

With one act of joy at a time, and aligning ourselves with feeling good, we get bits of guidance back to faith and love.

Following these bits of guidance along the way brings us back to our light and back to our highest selves.

For many months I found myself feeling extremely out of alignment with not only my spiritual path, but even in feeling GOOD.

I didn’t feel like myself, and I was full of self-doubt in every area of my life.

Luckily, I was able to recognize the negative thoughts and dark time and knew I needed to get to work on my spiritual alignment and get back to feeling good.

It is not a 'quick fix', and in many ways I am still healing, but I recognized that I had everything within me to get started on saving myself.

In this post I am going to list all of my resources and even my rituals that have guided me back to my light when I was in a time of grief, confusion, and at a loss with my faith.

I hope to show you that accessing happiness even during a difficult time will guide you out of your bottom.

Good does come from the bottom, because you become new out of your bottom.

And that’s when the light comes in.

MY TOOLS TO START FEELING GOOD FAST:

1. Podcasts/Audible Books

Mornings can be the hardest when going through a dark time.

Getting out of bed and going to work makes you feel like you deserve a freakin’ reward!

My mornings were made easier when I could feel like I was not alone.

Podcasts or listening to a book on Audible served me positivity and distraction off of my current distress and I was able to invest my thoughts on something else.

My two favorite podcasts that ALWAYS serve me positivity are:

These podcasts have incredible interviews and beautiful transformational stories to remind you that you are not alone. Listening to others' stories and successes took me out of my current situation and allowed me start my day with an open mind and different outlook.

If you are looking for a positive/powerful listen, I would suggest Gabrielle Bernstein’s Super Attractor or The Power of the Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy.

Both of these books are about up leveling your perception of the world around you and connecting deeper to your inner guidance.

2. Counseling

First, I would just like to say that there is no shame in going to talk to someone. Ever.

We glorify going to the gym for healthy bodies, it's time to recognize the importance of a healthy mind.

When my brother passed away, I knew I was going to need to see a counselor.

Not only to get to know my stages of grief, but to learn how to be there for my family as well.

Walking through grief or any crises in life is a bumpy and weird road. When my thoughts were not recognizable anymore I knew having someone to listen to me would provide guidance and clarity even if only for 45 minutes a week.

After the first month, I started to notice how it was not only helping, but it felt good taking care of myself mentally.

And if you’re like me and have a hard time finding someone who takes your insurance, I would recommend finding a facility that operates with a “sliding scale" and work with you on the costs. :)

3. Movement

I can not express the great power of movement enough.

Do you want to get out of your head?

Go for a long walk, take that yoga class, put on music and dance in you room!

Just move!

Movement in so many ways has saved me.

I disconnect from any thoughts that do not serve me when I am connecting me to my soul and my higher self through movement. I get out of my head, and I get into my body.

Movement to music helps me escape the most.

4. Meditation/Affirmations

Yes y’all, I meditate.

And I love to talk about it, have you noticed?

Meditation was something I did just to try, and it changed my entire understanding of who I am and provided me a deeper connection to my inner voice instantly.

By closing our eyes and allowing ourselves to find comfort in stillness, we are able to visualize and connect to our higher power/consciousness that already lives within.

In a meditative state, we are able to surrender our fears and allow the voice of our highest selves guide us back to the highest good and align with the energy of love.

Here's how I like to meditate everyday:

The Unplug Meditation App

This is my favorite meditation app because it provides guided meditations of all lengths and for all intentions.

It even has a profile that you can create which includes a notes section and a daily gratitude journal.

Whether you're wanting a meditation for sleep, abundance, gratitude, or forgiveness, this app is great for anyone getting started or who have been meditating for years.

Also, having affirmations to start or do or even while meditating is also a game changer in getting into a healthier mindset.

I use the SpiritJunkie App for an affirmation a day

Each morning I get an affirmation around 8AM to start my day in a more centered and clear way.

This has been extremely helpful during my times of extreme self-doubt. Having a moment with my affirmation helped me go out into the world and start my day feeling supported.

Affirmation I am currently using in my mediations:

“Everything is happening around me and I am truly taken care of.”

The beauty of all of these resources is that they each give you an opportunity to surrender and receive inward guidance.

Once we realize we have all of the answers within, we can really start the work of inner alignment and attunement.

Remember, prioritizing feeling good is key, and it is imperative not to judge yourself for releasing control.

When we find opportunities to align with good and let go, we feel more free.

And when we see with love and align with good, we are always being guided.
